Pat is a leader that has helped
bring one of the largest advertising
agencies in the country to great
success through strategic marketing,
a strong retail prowess, daily
communication and inspiration.
Although some find his presence
at first glance intimidating, within
the course of your first conversation
with Pat you soon realize that he
has the uncanny ability to get to the
core of any advertising dilemma or
marketing problem to really zero
in on a true successful business
strategy for a brand.
With more than 30 years of
experience in the retail advertising
industry it's no wonder his agency
works with top industry clients
that include Ashley Furniture,
AutoNation, hhgregg, Nissan, Papa
John's, Party City, Pep Boys and
Office Depot to name a few. Pat
has the innate know-how to craft a
brand, drive next day sales, lead a
team and build a business that has
resulted in helping create a national
retail brand builder in South
Florida.
But, it's not only his in-depth
marketing and managing
abilities that make Pat
a great leader, it's also
the drive, passion and
heart that he exhibits
in his everyday life outside of the
office. This philosophy on life truly
provides him with the fortitude to
drive Zimmerman into the future
successfully. For more information

Pat knows all about perseverance
and making an impact. Outside of
the office, you can typically find him
on a bike leading the way in a pace
line along one of the scenic routes on
A1A in South Florida. He also cycles
competitively as a master level racer.
"I've been cycling for 10 years.
I also quit smoking 10 years ago
after my daughter went to a science
fair and saw a black lung and said,
"Daddy, you have to stop smoking
now. That black lung is going to kill
you,"" shared Pat. "A lot of people
who stop smoking gain weight,
eating more food to replace the
smoking."
"I instead gave myself a fitness
challenge," he added. "I lost weight,
gained muscle and started riding a
bike."
He uses his passion for cycling to
help make a difference and he rides
for a better tomorrow as one of the
Co-Founders of the zMotion cycling
team, Zimmerman Advertising's
philanthropic arm that utilizes
cycling as its vehicle to support
many local charities.
"A little more than five years
ago, Jordan Zimmerman and I were
on a quest to inspire and rally our
associates at the agency," said Pat.
"I saw how living a healthier lifestyle
and cycling had impacted my life
for the better and wanted to share
the experience within the agency
walls. I also thought this would be an
excellent way for our associates to
get to know one another away from
the office environment."
Hoping to apply the Company's energy
and enthusiasm to a higher cause,
Pat, Jordan Zimmerman, Founder and
Chairman of Zimmerman Advertising
and Mike Schweiger, agency CFO,
researched an annual
charity bike ride for
the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society.
"We sent out an
email at the agency
letting associates
know that we would
provide them with a
bike if they wanted to
train and participate
in the MS 150," stated
Pat. "To date we have
provided close to 500
bikes for those that
want to participate in
zMotion."
The first fundraising
ride experience
turned out to be bigger
and more powerful
than anything they
had imagined. What
was once only a small
company effort led
by four rookie riders
at the agency now
includes more than
300 agency associates as members and
almost 1,000 riding members from the
South Florida area.
zMotion and Zimmerman host and
sponsor 12 charity rides throughout
the year. The team has raised more
than $6 million for national and local
charities to date through fundraising
and participating in charity rides.
"zMotion has quickly become a
leading force within the South Florida
cycling community and beyond," shared
Pat. "Along with our philanthropic
efforts and community involvement,
zMotion is also heavily involved in
promoting cycling advocacy and
education."
One way the team is promoting
sharing the road is with its "Ride
Right, Drive Right" campaign message
designed to educate both motorists and
cyclists about the need to share the
roadways.
The campaign's goal is to make
the roads safer and to save lives by
building awareness. At the center of
the campaign is the belief that cycling
laws are poorly communicated. Many
motorists are simply unaware of these
laws, which render them ineffective. By
educating both the cyclist and motorist
alike, "Ride Right, Drive Right" can
initiate a positive change.
"Ride Right" refers to the cyclist's
credo to know and obey all traffic laws;
be courteous to other cyclists; never
challenge a confrontational motorist;
and to share the road.
"Drive Right" reminds motorists to
know laws as they relate to cyclists,
including giving at least three feet
of clearance when passing a cyclist,
looking for cyclists when entering and
exiting the road, and remembering that
cyclists could be in their blind spots.
zMotion also has weekend riding
groups for various
riding levels from
beginner to advanced
camps. At these
weekend camp rides,
riders learn how to
have fun riding in a
group while being safe
on the roads.
Pat is camp leader
along with Mike
Schweiger of "Camp
Cove" an advanced
cycling group that
rides on Saturday
mornings at 7 a.m. This
camp rides at speeds
generally consisting
between 26 to 32 mph.

This past fall,
Pat and the rest
of Zimmerman
Advertising and its
zMotion team sponsored the first major
Livestrong event in Florida called
Livelong Livestrong. Over 2200 folks
participated in the walk, run or ride,
raising more than $300,000.
Proceeds benefited the Dreams
Pediatric Cancer Unit at the new Joe
DiMaggio Children's Hospital and the
Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Never to let grass grow under his
"wheels," Pat will captain another Bill
Bone Pro Am Race Season for zMotion
starting January 2012. Check for details
